On 21 and 22.05.2024, Izmir, Turkey held a MultiClass Conference on the topic “Inclusive Education in Multicultural Classroom Together with the Ministry of Education and Science, the Romanian Accreditation Agency (ARACIS) and the Board for Refugees and Migrants in Bulgaria.

The conference was hosted by the University of Izmir.

The conference was opened by the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Safet Kosse, after which the MULTICLASS project was presented by Dr. Emin Bakai, the project coordinator.Dr. Bakai presented the goals of the project, as well as the results achieved so far. The representatives of the consortium followed.

The second part of the conference was held in two consecutive parallel sessions, divided into four panels in each session. Each panel consisted of three to five presentations from researchers and teachers from different countries on topics related to the project subject.

During the second parallel session, Prof. Siika Chavdarova-Kostova and junior expert Danny Kurulenko presented a presentation on “Policies and Practices for Inviting Students from Vulnerable Groups in Higher Education in the context of the multicultural environment”. The presentation was part of a panel entitled “A Political and Institutional Framework for Promoting Inflation in Higher Education”.

Презентацията беше в две части. Първата част представи статистически данни за етническото, езиково и религиозно разнообразие на България, както и данни за хората с увреждания, мигрантите и бежанците. Втората част беше свързана с проекта START, като беше представен проекта и резултатите по него, постигнати до момента. По време на дискусията след презентация проф. Чавдарова и младши експерт Куруленко представиха допълнителни детайли и наблюдения от проведените фокус групи и анкети на университетите.
